A panel is installed on the roof of your home which delivers hot water to a range specially designed cylinder inside the home.
In summer months this can provide you with all the hot water you require and in the winter it can provide you with some of your hot water but it is usual in this country to provide a back up boiler. This is because we don’t have strong enough sun to get all your needs all year round. This is because solar thermal water heating only does your hot water and not your central heating. It is possible to use other eco technologies to heat you home as well, such as a ground source heat pump or an air to water heat pump.
